Subject:  do you pay tithe on loan money

Bible Note:  While I had my small business going, I had a bit of a delima of sorts where "required" tithing was concerned.

I started out tithing my gross. then I started studying scripture to see what the Word said. My determination was primarily based on Pr 3:9
Pro 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Pro 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

I'll admit 3:10 made me feel really good, for although some would say that is not why we should tithe, it is still a promice that we can bank on.

Although I did not, and do not feel that the Lord expects me to continue to tithe my gross, and considering the fact that my gross includes payment for materials which I purchased in the first place, I have done so since the beginning. As yourself, I feel that anything above and beyond is an offering, and if the Lord blesses me, why shouldn't I spread that blessing. Try as one may, the Lord can't be outgiven.

One last thought;
Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

So what I do, is not nesssisarily what someone else should do, and vice versa, as long as we are both following the guidelines laid down in scripture and not robbing our Lord with a lack of tithing all together.

God Bless
George
