Bible Note: Tim I agree using a video clip isn't really much different than quoting a piece of literature. However I do object to showing a clip for a movie that probably couldn't be shown in it's entirety in the church do to it's content. I think this is about the same as quoting from Lady Chattery’s Lover. And this is being done in some churches. I also think we can make the atmosphere so casual, so familiar, so worldly that the message gets lost. I sat under one man that got caught up in the moment describing a large woman and started using the hand jesters that are commonly used to describe a well endowed lady. I and many others were uncomfortable. When he realized what he was doing he grinned and sheepishly said that since he had already done it we all knew what he was speaking about. To me that was a little to casual. I think it also talked alot about how he must be outside people's view. EdB |
