Subject: The laws of the bible in todays world |
Bible Note: Greetings Ray! Allow me to illustrate my point about not aruging doctrine with an unbeliever. I was witnessing to a young man while I was in high school. He had agreed to come home with me and attend services at my church that night. When we arrived at my house, I began to share about Christ with him. Immediately, he had all kinds of questions. He asked about the end times. He asked about tongues. He asked about all kinds of questions like these. What was my response to him? You don't know Christ yet, these other issues would make no sense to you. So, we went back to talking about Jesus. That night, he accepted Christ. :) If the person who wrote the letter is not a Christian, it will mean nothing to him/her to say that God says that homosexuality is a sin. He or she will simply reject what God has to say. Or, he or she may not even accept that the Bible is God's word. In the end, arguing the various points will be fruitless. But, sharing Christ with him or her might very well bring him/her to the place that he/she is ready to accept Christ. That is what I meant by ignoring the letter! :) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
