Bible Question: Can anyone prove or disprove that the KJV or NIV are INSPIRED TRANSLATIONS of the Bible? Glory Bound's User Profile says they are. --Hank |
Bible Answer: Hi, Hank! ...was on my way out when I saw your post... As the Jewish people were of one belief, there does not seem to have been a need to have various versions of the Scrolls passed along... The desire of one group of Christian to "own" Scripture has caused this unending reinvention of Scripture... one emphesizes grammar, another, context, another symbolism, another modernism, another orthodoxy (at least till the next "urika" happens by)... Did Paul say that God was a God of chaos or of order? (1 Corinthians 14:33) So if we continue to promulgate more and more translations, are we serving to promote peace and unity or further divisions and disorder? One of the atheists and anti-Christians charges is that there are multiple numbers of Bibles, each contradicting the others... Of course they are not totally correct... but they are pointing out a serious flew in Christian Unity! God Bless! Angel |
