Bible Question: Ok, my question is more about Church than the Bible: Why is it that the overwhelming majority of born again Christians come across as strange and brainwashed? This is not definately not always true and it is very refreshing and apprieciated when you meet a born-again Christian who comes across as a normal person. I think that many non-Christians in the world would without question consider converting if it wasn't for these slightly wierd people. I think that there are many people who are interested in learning more but get put off by these people. Sorry if I have offended anyone, can anyone help? |
Bible Answer: Hi, henry1000! I think that part of it is due to extremism (those who take a few passages from the Bible and run to the max--ie: all Christians must demonstrate their spirituality by speaking in languages); the other part is that Christians are not free elements that can couple with whatever the world offers as morality or spirituality (Christians who are obedient to Christ must adhere to Christ's Command: live in the Light!). When people who call themselves Christians transgress against God by coforming to the world (and not just that but teaching that the Scripture must adapt to the world's definitions of love, freedom, spirituality, justice...), they are giving the world a false sense of security and a license to choose and reject God's Word as they see fit. All of this, seen as a unit, confuses not only the world but those who are seeking God as well! God Bless! Angel |
