Bible Question: Are the Jehovah's Witness's a Sect, or a group of Christians that are misunderstood. I was saved in March of this year, and talking to a witness at my place of work. I in no way want to join the witness's, but Im trying to figure out if it is harmful to my spiritual growth to associate with her, and speak to her about the Bible, and scripture. Can anyone offer advice please? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Dadda! Hank spoke the truth! Though since the last decade or so they have been claiming to be "Christians," it is much like the Mormons who introduce themselves as Bible reading Christians but soon side step the Bible to offer their version of doctrine (book of Mormons). Your coworker (if in the cult for a few years) has had extensive indoctrination in: disbelieving the Holy Trinity, the Divinity of Jesus and the Holy Spirit as part of God. She has acquired a tunnel-vision to read and understand only what "they" consider to be the truth. In as much as you attempt to show, through the Bible, the Truth (Jesus the only Name given by which we are all saved) she will attempt to reject every word as wrong interpretation. Even when you offer a simple passage as "I and the Father are One", since they do not believe in the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7-15), they can not understand that which is of the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2:6-16), they can only think of human intelligence and symbolism. Pray so that the Holy Spirit give you strength and wisdom to stay in the Truth: Jesus is God! God Bless! Angel |
