Bible Question:
Should a christian believe in destiny? |
Bible Answer: I would recommend against it, our God gives us freedom to choose our ultimate desitnation for our soul and all the choices in between now and then. It sounds intriguing and attractive to follow someone else's advice to find our "destiny" but too often it leads to someone or something that doesn't really have our best interests at heart. In my opinion, it's best to stick with God and His Word. He and His Word are the ONLY things that are absolutely reliable and we can be assured that God does have our best interests at heart. There are many scriptures that could be cited but the best I could think of is from the wisest man that ever lived and he pursue every conceivable option known to man. Eccl 12:12 But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. Eccl 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. Eccl 12:14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. It would be wise for you to read the rest of this book. Blessings to you. Country girl. |
