Bible Question:
Okay I got a question, why do people feel they must come to this forum and ask cryptic or half baked questions to appear spiritual. Have they been watching to much TV. I know TV loves to portray the meaning of life by having a guy go to some sort of sage and receive profound nonsense in response of their question. Does being cryptic make some think they are mysterious or have deep revelation that the rest of us just aren’t smart enough to get or what. I guess if we can’t ask a question is such a way the listener goes “huh” we aren’t spiritual. What a crock of nonsense! EdB |
Bible Answer: EdB: I've read thousands of posts to this Forum and never ceased to be amazed at how many of them, purporting to be profound, are nothing but sterling examples of obscure, nonsensical gibberish. One should think that users would at least take the time and exert the effort to proofread their work before they post it. I've seen posts run the limit of words that are allowed for a single post without saying anything of importance. Ben Franklin gave some wise advice to a verbose young friend who was fond of writing long, flowery letters that said very little. To one of these letters Franklin responded curtly, "Young man, take time to write a short letter." Indeed, Franklin hit the mark squarely: It takes more time -- and a great deal more thought -- to write concise, meaningful prose than it does to ramble through many pages of flowery nonsense. --Hank |
