Subject: Why don't we address God as Yahweh? |
Bible Note: Greetings EdB! Someone knew how to pronounce it at one time. Yet, none of the early writtings in Hebrew had any vowels at all. It wasn't until later that they included vowel points (symbols which helped in pronuciation). Yet, the did not include the vowel points with YHWH. Instead, they added the vowels from Adonay. So, no one today 'remembers' how YHWH was originally said. My point all along has been simple. Jesus 'translated' YHWH as 'Lord' in the New Testament, so we can as well.
