Bible Question (short): Genesis 10:5 and 11:1? |
Question (full): I know the Bible does not contradict itself, but I am have trouble understanding two different verses in Genesis. Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations. Notice the dividion was of lands, tongue, and families. My question is concerning the tongue. Now notice my next verse, which is in the future from this verse. Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. Have the people advanced into one language or is Genesis 10:5 speaking of something else? |
