NASB | Judges 15:19 But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi so that water came out of it. When he drank, his strength returned and he revived. Therefore he named it En-hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Judges 15:19 So God split open the hollow place that was at Lehi, and water came out of it. When Samson drank, his spirit (strength) returned and he was revived. Therefore he named it En-hakkore (spring which is calling), which is at Lehi to this day. |
Bible Question: In the KJV it says "God cleaved a hollow place in the jaw, and there came water thereout. Does the jaw refer to the jawbone Samson used to slay the thousand in Judges 15:15-17? |
Bible Answer: Hello Gaffirst After looking at various translations, it appears the there is a question of whether the Hebrew should be a common noun (jaw) or a location name (Lehi). I would be inclined to go with the name but not dogmatically. Steve |
