Bible Question: What does it mean by chosen children? does this word lead to hope? |
Bible Answer: Matthew 22:14 says: "There are many invited, but few chosen." The entire nation of Israel was invited to be "a kingdom of priests and a holy nation." (Exodus 19:5, 6) However, this depended on obedience. Jesus indicated the response to the invitation in verses 3-6. Verse 8 explains why they were not chosen: "Those invited were not worthy." (Matthew 22:3-6, 8) They were chosen according to their response to the good news. (2 Thessalonians 2:13, 14) Stokeyhk. |
