Bible Question:
Is Easter mentioned in the Bible? The celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ has become referred to often as "Easter". But is this term even mentioned in the Bible? |
Bible Answer: In Acts 12:4 the KJV is the only translation that I'm aware of that has translated this passage correctly as Easter. This is not passover, but pagan Easter.Look at verse 3 in Chp.12.It says "Then were the days of unleavened bread". This is the key here! The day of Passover always comes before the days of unleavened bread.(this DAY of Passover is not to be confused with calling the whole feast Passover.)In Numbers 28:16-17 and 33:3 and Joshua 5:10-11 the day of Passover comes before the days of unleavened bread. First Passover the 14th, then the days of unleavened bread the 15th-21st,then pagan Easter. Herod was not going to keep Peter in prison for a whole year. Take care |
