Bible Question: I have heard that the Upper Room where Jesus and his disciples had the Passover, was in the home of Joseph of Arimathea. Is there any truth to that? It's not stated in the bible, so I'm wondering where this got started. Does anyone know? |
Bible Answer: never heard this saying before.Joseph of Arimathea, was a Sanhedrin member and honorable counsellor, who looked for the knigdom of God in Mark 15:43; Luke 2:25,38,Luke 23:50-51.apparently afraid to commit himself publicly, he was none the less a disciple, who consented not to the Sanhedrin resolution to put the Lord to death. yet he went boldly to beg of Pilate the crucified body, and put it in his new rock-hewn tomb(Matthew 27:57-60; Luke 23:50-53;John 19:38) |
