Bible Question:
I told my children that we are saved by faith. If the Bible says that we are saved by grace, is that one in the same? If you have grace then you have faith? What they want to know is, if a person isn't good, hurts people but has faith that Jesus is our Savior does that person go to heaven? But one that is good and caring but does not believe will go to hell? These are the things that they want to know. I want to have the answers for them. I'm so afraid they turn away if I give them the wrong answers . How do I answer them? |
Bible Answer: Yes, we are saved by faith, but it also requires that we ask God into our hearts and repent of our sinful ways. It says that faith without works is dead. I believe that to mean that after you have accepted Jesus and asked him into your life, that you become saved. In turn, when you repent and start to follow in Jesus' footsteps, you will do good works because your "nature" will change. Just because you believe in your head doesn't mean you are saved and go to Heaven. It says in the bible that even the demons believe... However, they aren't going to Heaven. Continue in the word of God and you will see the differences between having faith and a relationship with God instead of just "head" knowledge. Dat |
