Bible Question: can a woman lead a church, my husband says that in the bible it states that a woman can preach but not be the leader of a church. i want to go to a church that has a woman pastor |
Bible Answer: Every one is expected to spread the word of god. But it is made clear that woman is to remain submisive to man. Man is expected to take a lead role and care for his family and bring them the word of god. Any church that allows female pastors has succomed to the modern guise of "political correctness" and as such has fallen away from what god intended. In short NO, women should not lead men, therefore women can not lead a church. :) (NIV) 1 Corinthians 14 33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. 34As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. Isaiah 3 11 Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done. 12 Youths oppress my people, women rule over them. --(this is a negative referance) O my people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path. 13 The LORD takes his place in court; he rises to judge the people. |
