Subject: why do we sin when sin has no mastery? |
Bible Note: ABSOLUTELY. Dying to the flesh is not a one time act. We must choose to crucify the flesh daily. We must take on the attitude that sin has no power over us (RECKON OURSELVES DEAD TO SIN) since we daily die to the flesh. We choose to walk by the spirit. When I realize that Jesus destroyed the power of the devil, Heb. 2:14 through Heb. 2:18 (KJV) 14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. then I know that the only power the devil has over me is the power I give him. If we believe this is true (Heb 2:14) our behavior should reflect our thoughts. I am glad that God has chosen to transform me/us into His good, accepatable and perfect will by the renewing of my/our mind. All I/we have to do is choose Him over the world. And BELIEVE. Rom. 3:4 (KJV) 4God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. Are you/we letting God be true in your/our life? |
