Bible Question (short): Why does Abram call Lot brother |
Question (full): What is Lot, Abram's nephew, or brother? In the light of 2Tim 3:16, how can I explain away this seemingly contrdictory phrase to scoffers that I encounter? God Bless you for helping, Tim Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possessions which they had accumulated, and the persons which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan; (Gen 12:5 NASB) So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers. (Gen 13:8 NASB) They also took Lot, Abram's nephew, and his possessions and departed, for he was living in Sodom. (Gen 14:12 NASB) |
