Subject: Does God have free will? |
Bible Note: Your original question is a good one and shows the logical conclusion of positing free will as an explanation for evil. Augustine in the early centuries of Christianity asked the same question. The force of logic and Scripture led him to reject the notion of free will. Free will, so posited, logically leads to denying free will to God. Also, God has not tied His hands with respect to man's will, witness Pharoah, Abimelech, Sihon and others.
