Bible Question:
I am looking for opinions of the Zondervan NASB Study Bible. Is the font too small? How helpful are the notes? Other thoughts? |
Bible Answer: The study Bible I find most indispensable, whose notes I find most useful, is the MacArthur Study Bible. However, one of the best and most denominationally neutral study Bibles I know of is the Zondervan NASB Study Bible. The Zondervan NASB Study Bible is a top recommendation and favorite of mine because it is very, very thorough, denominationally neutral, and packed with useful, easy-to-use information. This information includes: . the NASB translators' notes . over 20,000 in-text study notes . adapted from the best-selling NIV Study Bible (NIVSB is considered a subjectively oriented study Bible, conservative, evangelical) . a center-column reference system with over 100,000 references . an extensive NASB concordance, and more. According to the advertising copy: "The Zondervan NASB Study Bible is hands-down the most comprehensive, up-to-date study Bible available." I feel this claim is not exaggerated. The font size is adequate (I would rate it "fair"), being approximately the average font size for a Bible. (To read customer reviews of this and many other Bibles and books, go to www.amazon.com) (For excellent guidelines to consider when choosing a study Bible, I would highly recommend reading: "How to Choose a Study Bible," www.equip.org/free/DB135.htm) |
