Subject: when we die where do we go immediately |
Bible Note: Man consists of 1. Body, 2. Soul, 3. Spirit 1 Thess 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Body is the "housing" for the soul and spirit, the soul is the "life" in man (or the life in any other creature), the spirit is the "mental orientation" of man. When a man dies his body becomes lifeless, the soul/life is gone and the spirit/mental orientation goes to sleep. If this is not the case how do you explain the following? David has not ascended into heaven yet, and if David hasn't ascended into heaven yet, I don't think anyone else has either. Acts 2:27-29 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.KJV Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, KJV The following are some other scriptures which show we do not have any thoughts or knowledge after we die. Ps 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? KJV Eccl 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. KJV Isa 38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. KJV Eccl 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. KJV Job 14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. KJV |
