Bible Question: Why is it that Seventh Day Adventists are considered to have separate beliefs that other christians and therefore different? |
Bible Answer: Ramy In a word extremes. SDA have various positions and declare anyone that does not hold those beliefs as false religions. They believe you can only worship on 7th day sabbath and anyone that worships on Sunday as being sold out to paganism. They hold the holidays of Easter and Christmas are pagan holidays and by celebrating them you become pagan. Those are extreme positions, not the fact they disagree with Sunday or holidays but how they view other Christians that do. At one point the "Dean of Cults" Walter Martin viewed them as a cult, however that position has softened over the years. I know many SDA that are good fellow Christians which I expect to see in heaven, though they seem certain I will not be there :-) EdB |
