Subject: Kingdom of God Spiritual or Phisical? |
Bible Note: When Jesus was on earth he preached about God's Kingdom which he described to be a literal theocratic government. Only God's Kingdom has the power and authority to rule mankind in righteousness and peace. Various different political regimes throughout the ages have been tried and failed to bring any longlasting solutions to world's problems. If you turn to Daniel 2:44 it reads: "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will be be brought to ruin and the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put and end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite." Clearly, this refers to a literal kingdom or form of government ruled by God and could not be interpreted as a condition of the heart. In Matthew 9:2 it reads: "and so he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God and to heal." Indeed, there are numerous scriptures in the Gospels which refer to the preaching of God's Kingdom which is imminent and will soon rule over mankind. Therefore, these scriptures clearly indicate a physical kingdom and not merely an attitude of the heart. Janice |
