Bible Question: Did Jesus Christ have any blood brothers or sisters? In other words, did Mary (Jesus' mom) give birth to anyone else besides Jesus? Please cite reference(s) with your response. Thank you. |
Bible Answer: Dear JMR, Jesus, according to Scripture had about 4 half-brothers and two sisters: Matthew 13:55-56; Matthew 27:56 [after Mary Magdalene, you have the woman Mary, mother of James and Joses who were in other verses mentioned as Jesus' half-brothers...though they thought they were full brothers] Mark 6:3; Mark 15:40,47; Mark 16:1 and Galatians 1:19 where we find that James who headed the church in Jerusalem, who was the first martyr, was Jesus' half-brother...Mary and Joseph's son...which was known to the apostles and all the early disciples. I hope this is of some help to you. Itiswritten |
