Bible Note: Response...................................... Greetings Schwartzkm! Great story! I'm sure everyone has been through something like the situation you described. Concerning your question, I hold my beliefs because I believe them to be true, not because of denominational affilation. Let me clarify! I was saved when I was six years old at a local VBS. But, no one else in my immediate family was (or is)saved. So, I didn't have an religious training in the home and I didn't attend church on a regular basis until I was about 14. Therefore, my beliefs were formed entirely from my study of the Bible during those years (I read it all the time). Later, in college, I shapened my beliefs with some theological training. My approach over the years has been pretty simple. I have a list of what I consider to be essential doctrines. If a denomination doesn't accept those doctrines, than I will not be a part of their fellowship (though I will fellowship with them personally)! For everything else, I just don't make a big deal out of the minor differences. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
