Bible Question:
My husband and I have had a recent disagreement on the "Harry Potter" books. I believe that Satan has been on the rampage, softening the line between good and evil, making it seem "harmless" and "child's play" and he believe's there's nothing wrong with our 6 year old daughter reading them. He says that she knows that witchcraft is not real, and that's all that matters. We are both Christians, and have recently become members of a church, and are relatively new to this all (about 3-4 years). Anyone have an answer? |
Bible Answer: Lizzie First Witchcraft is real, very real and getting involved in it can lead to tragic results! John Hagee just had a guest speaker on talking about this very subject. She had written a book on the subject (sorry I did not catch the name, I was channel surfing). In any case she made a real strong case for the danger in Harry Potter. She mentioned that even the name Potter has occult meanings. You may want to get the book and read about the dangers yourself. I'm sure the Hagee web site will have info. My advice is stay away from anything that has to do with sorcery or witchcraft, do not give Satan entrance. EdB |
