Bible Question: Everyone who enjoys this Forum and would like to see the number of users grow: May I suggest that you email 5 people on your email address list and personally recommend this website, including the link (web address) in your email? The more the merrier. (I am just another member/user of this Forum. I do not speak for the Lockman Foundation nor anyone else -- only myself.) Thank you for your consideration and help in doing this. |
Bible Answer: In my opinion this forum can do as much harm as it does good. Read it over you will find all kind of opinions, ideas, conjectures but no real conclusions. You will find quotes from some of the most outlandish books. A new Christian and even some mature Christians may come to the conclusion that the writings of Bahia, or Urantia have some credence. Or that the books of Enoch or Thomas are books kept hidden to foster the teachings of the church. While your looking at the responses notice also how the forum is structure is fractured with many responses taking bunny trails leading to dead ends. There needs to be some moderation so that each discussion is lead to a logical conclusion, if a subject is such that a mutually agreeable conclusion can not be reached then there should be a summation of the various points. There is a real danger of people being lead astray by opinion, conjecture and mis-information. God did not give us his word to speculate over he gave it us to live by. If these discussions don't lead to a better understanding of God's Word but only lead to thoughts and philosophies of others then it is serving a wrong and very dangerous purpose. I probably said more than I should have and for that will apologize. |
