AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 5:6 ¶ And there between the throne (with the four living creatures) and among the elders I saw a Lamb (Christ) standing, [bearing scars and wounds] as though it had been slain, with seven horns (complete power) and with seven eyes (complete knowledge), which are the seven Spirits of God who have been sent [on duty] into all the earth. Bible Question: What exactly is the meaning of "seven Spirits of God" found in this verse? |
Bible Answer: whippie, Take a look at Ephesians 4:4-6. This will help when trying to understand passages like Rev 5:6. This particular passage can be confusing if not taken in light of already established scriptures. I'm not into numerology but there are certain numbers that do carry some significance, seven being one of them. Seven is used when refering to Godly or spiritual perfection or completeness. There are translations where Rev 9:5 is rendered sevenfold spirit of God. This isn't my strongest area of knowledge but I hope it helps. In Him, lionheart |
