NASB | Revelation 5:5 and one of the elders *said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 5:5 Then one of the [twenty-four] elders said to me, "Stop weeping! Look closely, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome and conquered! He can open the scroll and [break] its seven seals." [Gen 49:9, 10; Is 11:1, 10; Rev 22:16] |
Bible Question:
I'm looking for this quote in the bible. I thought it was from Daniel but now I'm not sure. It involves a book or scroll and they take it to two different people to try and open it. There's a really smart guy and he can't open it and a simple guy and he can't open it either. Does anyone know where the quote is from? I'd really like to find it. Also be interested in any opinions on what it means. |
Bible Answer: Dear messiah6986745434, I didn’t do an exhaustive search, but think the below may be what you are referring to. There was one who was able to open it. Revelation 5:2-5: 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Stand in His grace, WOS |
