AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 12:4 And his tail swept [across the sky] and dragged away a third of the stars of heaven and flung them to the earth. And the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. [Dan 8:10; Rev 12:9] |
Subject: The Fall of Satan |
Bible Note: It would seem logical to me, (if you want opinions) that Satan fell BEFORE tempting Eve. I don’t see an un-fallen angel tempting humanity. Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, Rev 12:8 and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Revelation 12:9 says that Satan was cast down to earth. Since the Earth was created in six literal days, I would see the fall happening AFTER the creation. So there’s my take on. Sometime after creation Lucifer (Satan) is deceived by his pride, there was a war in heaven, and Satan was cast down to the earth. Shortly after that (I have no idea how long “shortly” would be) Satan tempts Eve to sin. Ocelot P.S. Since this certainly isn't a docrinal issue, I hope my stating of opinion doesn't start an argument : ) |
