NASB | Revelation 1:8 ¶ "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 1:8 ¶ "I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End]," says the Lord God, "Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all]." [Is 9:6] |
Bible Question: What bible verses refer to how old god is, that he has been here forerver, did not have a beginning etc? |
Bible Answer: Read Revelation 1:8, also 21:6, and 22:13. "I am the Alpha, and the Omega", the beginning and the end. In order to have an age, He would have had to have a beginning, Please tell me how one who is the beginning, could have had a beginning?. I find it much easier to think of God as having no beginning, than to think of Him having a beginning. What He is saying here is that He existed before anything else did, see John 1:3. |
