Bible Question: I need to find scripture when Jesus died and went to get the keys to hell. Can you please help!!! |
Bible Answer: Hi The fact that Jesus holds the keys of Hades and of death does not mean that He was going there but that He decided who would be released from them. The idea is that Death and Hades held men captive, but that through His death and resurrection He has provided a way of release for all who look to Him (before they die). In the words of Jesus in John 5.21, 'the Son gives life to whom He will'. 'I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he may die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die (John 11.25). Why? Because He has the keys of death and of Hades. Best wishes Jonp |
