AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jude 1:3 ¶ Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I was compelled to write to you [urgently] appealing that you fight strenuously for [the defense of] the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints [the faith that is the sum of Christian belief that was given verbally to believers]. |
Bible Question: How best, can we as teachers, encourage our brothers and sister to contend "fight for their faith and guard the gifts the lord has given us. How may we encourage them to to follow the description in 2Peter 1:5-8. |
Bible Answer: Hello, Allow me to add another suggestion besides what Makarios gave. Since Jesus told us to make disciples by baptizing and teaching all that He commanded, I recommend doing just that. Baptism establishes our beginning as a believer, not that it saves, but that it marks the firm commitment made--the external witness to not only others but ourselves as well. Teaching is a slow process, but done that way will ground both the teacher and student more certainly in what the Lord desires of His people. Faith grows as we are obedient to what was commanded (Luke 17:5-10). Steve |
