AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jude 1:1 Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, [writes this letter], To those who are the called (God's chosen ones, the elect), dearly loved by God the Father, and kept [secure and set apart] for Jesus Christ: |
Bible Question:
I read today many schlors believe that Jude (the author of the book of Jude) is actually Jesus brother? Does anyone agree with this? Is there any other bible reference to show that this is truth or is it only speculation since there is a Jude that is Jesus brother. Thanks ------- winningside |
Bible Answer: Hi, Winning... Albert Barnes is a good source. Look up his comments on the epistle here: http://www.studylight.org/com/bnn/ The Church of Rome asserts that Jude was one of Jesus' "adopted" brothers (Joseph's children from a prior marriage), or one of Jesus' cousins. However, I've never seen them produce anything that looks like solid, persuasive evidence on the topic. In Him, Doc |
