Bible Question:
I am having trouble finding the verse that speaks about testing those who are being considered for positions of leadership. Is there such a verse in the first place, and who does the testing? blessings abound, bowler |
Bible Answer: Greetings, 1 John 4:1 is one of the verses that tell us to test and examine. 1 Thess 5:21 tells us to examine everything. Acts 17:11 tells us that Paul and Silas both went to a church in Berea and the People of the Church were examining the scriptures of everything they were told was true. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us in the KJV to "Study". In the Nasb is says Be diligent. However, the message is the same. Paul tells Timothy to handle the word of God accurately, which comes through proper study and examination as well as prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit. quvmoh |
