AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God's seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again--who is reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him. |
Subject: let not sin reign |
Bible Note: Here John is not teaching sinless perfection, He speaks here of habitual practice of known sinful acts. The true beleiver's actions will conform to the character of his true Father.Gal 6:1 " if a brother is over taken in a fault he is to be restored in the spirit of love. A fault is a mistake that one make, but if that mistake continues to be make it will become sin. So if we are born of God we just don't practice sinful acts. if we continue to practice sinful acts it will become sin. the scripture tell us to be ye holy even as our Father which is in heaven is holy. you see no sin will enter into Gods heaven, so we must strive daily to walk in the light. as we see the light we must walk there in. Mistakes will be made but where we do wrong is to continue in that mistake, that is when sin takes control. lest not let sin reign in our mortal bodies. |
