Subject: Can one pray after his/her death? |
Bible Note: Dear Bibleman, thank you for the passage. When looking at this topic; praying to someone outside of the true God we can see from this scripture that this would be displeasing to the true God. Is 42:8 "I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. We see an example of this from the passage you supplied. These prohets of Baal were put to death. This was divine judgment from the true God. It is a dangerous thing to put anyone or anything in the place of the true God. 1 Kin 18:40 Then Elijah said to them, "Seize the prophets of Baal; do not let one of them escape." So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there. Notice how many of them died that day. 1 Kin 18:22 Then Elijah said to the people, "I alone am left a prophet of the LORD, but Baal's prophets are 450 men. Sincerely, Val |
