Bible Note: Reasnerm, I agree with you. Thanks for the clarification. We're dealing with the issue of Sanctification, or what I call "how to live Godly in Christ Jesus". In other words, what is my motivation to live a godly life? I believe you referred to it in an earlier post, Titus 2:11-12. I believe this to be one of the single best examples in scripture of what a believers motivation should be: Gods' Grace!(cf 1 Cor.15:10) Obviously Paul deals with the "cheap grace" issue in Rom. 6- grace IS NOT a license to sin. From my understanding of scripture, it becomes an issue of "yielding" to the Spirit. How do we do this? We could look at a number of verses, Gal. 5:16, Col.2:6,3:12-14,Rom.13:14, 2 Cor 5:7, that deal with the new man. Our goal is to daily appropriate His help and blessing by faith. We are exhorted to be: "filled with the Spirit" Eph. 5:18 "filled with the fruits of righteousness" Ph. 1:11 "filled with the knowledge of His will" Col.1:9 "filled with the fulness of God" Eph. 3:19 Yours In Christ, BradK |
