Subject: What commandments to keep? |
Bible Note: Dear Hank, While I sympathize with bubbatate's spiritual odessy, she seems to contradict herself. She says that she could not believe this person, or that person to tell the truth about the Scriptures. But then who does she finally trust to tell the truth? Another person. There is no one on this planet who can explain--without doubt or uncertainty--what is contained in the Holy and Inspired Word of God except...God. I, or you, or Brad, or any of us will undoubtedly be in error about some part of Scripture. But, we will understand it better by and by. I've read and heard all the evidence of Christmas and Easter being pagan in origin. While this may be true, look at what God has done with these holidays. These are the two times of the year more people think about-and give their lives to-Christ than any other. As it says, God works everything to the good of His perfect will. Besides, as it says in Romans 14:5-6,"One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God."
