NASB | 1 John 2:2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:2 And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature--our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world. |
Subject: How do we preach the Gospel? |
Bible Note: Jehonadab, The Apostil Paul once said that, He had to become all things to all men ,that by some means that He might win Some. Excelent words from a man I admire very much. Look at that verse real close, that He might win some, sometimes we hafe to take an atheist and turn him into an agnostic. then we have something to work with. And sometimes we ,as paul said, hafe to let go and let God deal with them. We hafe to speek to people and not down to them. Paul was right if we try to be all things to all people, we MIGHT WIN SOME. Be good. DL5 |
