NASB | 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. |
Bible Question:
If you live right, you are rewarded? Please support this statement. Where does God's Word say that if a regenerated believer does not confess sin he/she will pay the "wages of sin?" |
Bible Answer: If we only look at the BIBLE we can see in the old and new testament how people were rewarded for their right living. Some times it was spiritual, physical and other times it was financial. Sometimes it was all three. In my own personal life i know that i have missed many rewards from GOD simply because i was not spiritualy mature enough. Didn't have a clue what they looked or felt like. In reference to the last part of your question about a believer who does not confess their sin will pay the wages of sin, i totally agree with that.I base that with all the dealings GOD had with HIS children in the OLD and NEW TESTAMENT. |
