NASB | 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. |
Bible Question: since God cannot be in the presence of sin how did satan go before God and accuse the brethern and challenge God to let him touch Job? |
Bible Answer: It seems that those who harbor sin cannot abide in his presence; but they can visit. Also he will visit them with judgment. Because of his sin Satan was cast out of heaven. Because of their sin Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden. Our sin and our iniquities hide his face from us. If we habitually practice sin we do not have fellowship with him. If we say we do, we are lying, John says. But we can come to him confessing. In a similar way, Satan can come to him accusing. But then he has to leave. Makes sense? |
