AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. |
Bible Question: I am not really sure if I should ask this question or not; but my soul has been perplexed for a couple of days. And my desire is to be pleasing in God's sight. I do understand God's word and I know right from wrong. However, my flesh has overruled my better judgement and I have fallen into sin. I am in turmoil over this and want to be forgiven of God, I am not sure if I should tell my husband or just leave it between me and the Lord. I am really confused and I know it is because of the sin, that I feel this way. My main concern is what to do, will God forgive me? am I lost forever because I knew what God required of me and that sin has no place in my life. i am so confused, I do not want to burn in hell for eternity, I desire to be before the thorne of God crying out HOLY HOLY HOLY God Almighty is HOLY. What should I do. Am I lost for eternity? Scriptures please. |
Bible Answer: Dear Godchild, Sin has no place in anyone's life We all sin, but the thing is to not live in sin, to not go back and renew that sin in your life. Having said that, God will most certainly forgive you. "And my desire is to be pleasing in God's sight". This is a good thing to say and to know about yourself because it's really sinning against God when we do sin with the flesh because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;" Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. We all fall but see what God says here: Psalm 37:24 "Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand." Philippians 1:6 "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus". According to Romans 8:35-39 "Neither tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus". The only thing is, has Jesus begun a work in you? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour? This is one question you must answer before any other. God also gives us a way out of temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." In 2 Peter 2:9 "then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment," Ask God to forgive you, break off entirely what you've been doing, confess your sin to your husband and walk in the Lord's presence. Finally, when you ask God to forgive you, trust him that he has forgiven you and don't beat yourself up about it. God does not want us dwelling on past sins. I can't remember where in the Bible that verse is but it's in there. I leave you with the Grace and Love of Jesus: John 8:7 "But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. 10 Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" 11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."] God Bless you bgg |
