Bible Note: once again I would like to take a look with the verse that paul said. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: I am very agree with that verse, its explain that the salvation is free, it is clear that Jesus done His part to gave His grace to us. Others would say that we dont need "good works" but it not written in that verse that we dont need "good works" "works" (it could be works of law) because we created to for good works. Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. If we just continue reading in Eph 2:10 this is was we see "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. "we are created unto good works" are we really need not to do good works? and what we are going to do bad? Paul explain in 1cor 13:1 that even he has all the faith but without works he like a "or a tinkling cymbal" 1Co 13:1 ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And James 2:17 supported that by saying Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Finally paul said this 1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. I really like this statement of paul "I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing" The same apostle that wrote eph 2:8 and 2:9 that say "we save by grace through faith" explain the importance of "good works" to our faith. He said even he "all the faith" that can remove mountains, but without charity "I am nothing" Paul himself show us the importance of "good works". This like what baptism do with our faith, ananias encourage paul to be baptise. to wash away sin. Ananias never said that faith only will wash your sin. Ac 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. We ahve many things we could agree on this, Bible is written to believed and not to subject in anyone conclusions. God bless, |
