NASB | 1 Peter 2:20 For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 2:20 After all, what kind of credit is there if, when you do wrong and are punished for it, you endure it patiently? But if when you do what is right and patiently bear [undeserved] suffering, this finds favor with God. |
Bible Question:
I think there is a verse in the Bible that refers to "...if we keep our mouths shut when we know we are wrong, that's great; but, if we keep our mouths shut when we are accused of something and we know we are right, that's even better........." Has anyone heard of such a verse???? |
Bible Answer: Carol, Does this ring a bell? "For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God." (1Pe 2:20) Colin |
