Subject: Rahab righteous or not? |
Bible Note: Hi john "Basically sin is rebellion against God". Don't want to step on any toes here but, the statement made is a misrepresentation of what the "Word" says that sin actually is. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now looking at the law, did she break the law? Matt.22:37,39,40 37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Well (Matt., and Rom.) answer the question for me. If she was in the same position they were, she would want them to do for her, what she did for them. Then in doing so, she was fulfilling the law even though she did not have the law. She became righteous in her act, and God showed her mercy for that unselfish act. Vintage68 |
