AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose that the [human] spirit which He has made to dwell in us lusts with envy? [Gen 6:5] |
Bible Question (short): Which spirit does God jealously desire? |
Question (full): I have long had Questions re. this verse, both with the word (S)spirit, and the wishes of a "jealous" God. Does the word spirit refer to our spirit, which He desires to live for/with Him eternally, or does it refer to His Holy Spirit which he has placed within us upon our salvation/ Next; Is it His jealous desire to have back our spirit, which he has created for His pleasure and Glory, or is He jealously protecting His Spirit which He has caused to live in us, or is it His jealous desire to have us recognise, welcome, love, and delight in having His Holy Spirit, dwell with and in us,affecting the changes/growth nesessary to bring us to Glory? |
