NASB | James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 4:3 You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires. |
Subject: Is coveting with a pure heart Godly? |
Bible Note: Yes - agreed! What can we do for such possibilities ? Or what should we do ? Are we to go on letting our bretheren live in discontent? Or shall we try to help them understand what Paul tries to teach us in Phillipians 4:10-20? Surely he wasnt just speaking of mammon..? (see vs 17) Frankly, its disheartening to see our brothers believing a message of gain now and not so much later. *SHALOM* D |
