AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 1:27 Pure and unblemished religion [as it is expressed in outward acts] in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit and look after the fatherless and the widows in their distress, and to keep oneself uncontaminated by the [secular] world. |
Bible Question:
More and more I hear believers in Christ denying that they are part of a "RELIGION"; Rather, they contend "I just love the Lord". What does that imply? |
Bible Answer: What people are saying, I think, is that they don't want to identify with a collection of laws as a disipline leading to acceptance by God, but with a personal relationship with a God who has provided the only Way of salvation. It is just rhetoric that signifies contrarian sentiment. A group bound by similar beliefs by definition is a religion. |
