NASB | James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God" [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one. |
Bible Question: Does God lead us to sin? Math 6: - in the Our Father it states "lead us not into temptation" and in the Old Testament, I believe it is in Exodus it states the God hardened Pharaoh's heart. Again someone please help me to clear this up. |
Bible Answer: Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted of God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust is conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. (James 1:13-15) |
